Toronto Blue Jays Bio

The Blue Jays are renowned in Major League Baseball these days and two-time World Series winners.

They joined the league in 1977, following expansion and joined the American League East Division, where they have remained ever since.

They are the only Canadian team within MLB and got off to a tricky start, having the early stage franchise struggles many franchises do.

It wasn’t until 1983 when things started looking up. After multiple seasons finishing bottom of the division, they managed to achieve a winning season and won their first East Division title in 1985.

From there they really began to find their feet, winning the division in both 1989 and 1991, before the two biggest seasons in the franchise’s history.

With an all-star team assembled, including the likes of Joe Carter, Roberto Alomar, John Olerud and Devon White, the side won the 1992 and 1993 World Series championships.

There has been nothing since then, although they won the East Division once again in 2015 and entered the play-offs through a wild card placing the following year, where they win the Division Series but fell short in the Championship Series.
